In this role, the Business Development Representative will have ownership of a target list and will be responsible for developing new revenue within the assigned book of clients. This person is expected to build and closing short cycle sales, delivering sales presentations with correct messaging for each audience segment adapting to the needs of a dynamic environment and client base, and possessing a solutions-oriented sales style.
The scope of the business development function ranges from active prospecting, contract negotiating, addressing inbound leads regarding data inquiries and understanding consumer viewership behaviors.
Responsabilities:
Revenue Generation: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets, primarily focusing on the Broadcasters and Platforms segment.
Sales Cycle Management: Handle the entire sales process, from new business prospecting and identifying client needs to structuring, negotiating, and closing complex contract renewals (aiming for multi-year deals).
Account Growth: Actively pursue upsell opportunities within existing accounts and prospect for new business to grow revenue by selling incremental products tailored to vertical characteristics.
Pipeline & Forecasting: Create and maintain a robust sales pipeline, ensuring achievement within the designated market sector(s), and provide accurate forecasting and revenue delivery.
Client Engagement: Secure and conduct meetings with new prospects through consultative selling, build strong, long-lasting relationships with senior-level executives, and develop the pipeline via cold calling and email campaigns.
Sales Discipline: Ensure compliance with Sales Discipline practices, including daily updating of Salesforce/CRM with accurate data, tracking the sales and contract renewal cycle, and utilizing sales enablement tools.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (product, operations, client service) to ensure seamless solution delivery and maximum client satisfaction.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Media, or a related field.
5-10 years of proven sales experience, ideally within the media, advertising, or technology sectors, with a demonstrated desire to advance into a business development role.
A foundational understanding of the media landscape, including traditional broadcasting, streaming services, and digital platforms, with a keen interest in developing deeper expertise.
Demonstrated ability to build and nurture client relationships.
Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Proficiency in Salesforce, MS Office and G Suite. Salesloft is a plus.
