We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant – General Ledger to play a critical role in the monthly close and financial reporting process. This role is responsible for executing and reviewing core GL activities, ensuring balance sheet integrity, and supporting consolidated reporting in a multi-entity, international environment.
The Senior Accountant – GL is a key pillar of the close engine and works closely with the Assistant Controller to deliver a clean, predictable T+5 close.
What you’ll be doing:Execute core month-end GL close activities, including accruals, deferrals, and adjustments.Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.Ensure completeness and accuracy of the general ledger.Perform FX remeasurement and related postings.Assist with group consolidation activities, including review of consolidation entries and FX impacts.Prepare variance analysis and support management reporting.Support audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.Enforce accounting cutoffs, standards, and close discipline.What you need to have:Portuguese Chartered Accountant - Preferred.5+ years of progressive accounting experience.Proven experience in GL close ownership or senior close execution.Strong understanding of IFRS and/or US GAAP.Experience in multi-entity and multi-currency environments.Exposure to group consolidation concepts (eliminations, FX).Strong attention to detail with a reviewer mindset.Ability to operate effectively under close deadlines.Systems & Tools (Strong Plus): NetSuite experience (GL, intercompany, reporting); Experience with close management and reconciliation tools; Advanced Excel / reporting skills.Portugal - Sword Benefits & Perks:
