We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer who thrives in solving complex engineering challenges, improving performance at scale, and driving backend excellence. You’ll work at the intersection of technology, product, and data, helping us shape the future of data-driven fitness innovation.
Your responsibilitiesBuild & scale backend services that power AI-driven workouts for millions of usersArchitect, optimise, and refine backend systems to ensure high performance, scalability, and reliabilityIdentify and resolve performance bottlenecks, propose improvements, and implement caching strategiesDevelop APIs and integrations that power our mobile and web applicationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (UA, CRM, marketing, data) to align backend solutions with business goalsWrite clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while following best practicesImprove observability & monitoring to ensure system health and uptimeContribute to DevOps processes, including CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS infrastructureMentor and support other engineers through code reviews, knowledge sharing, and technical guidanceYour profileExperience designing RESTful for high-traffic applicationsExperience in developing applications using Ruby, and Rails framework or similar frameworksExposure to event-driven architecturesVery good communication skills and comfortable working in an agile, cross-functional, and autonomous team environmentExperienced using Github as a collaboration tool with an engineering teamExperience in testing methodologies, e.g. RSpec or any other approachExposure to cloud services (ideally AWS), and infrastructure as code toolHands-on approach with CI/CDPassion for clean code, system performance, and continuous improvementTeam player, strong collaborator and happy sharing knowledge with the engineering teamEstimated Salary Range
