We're currently looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our new Sports Development Experience team, which bridges the gap between infrastructure and development, empowering engineers across the organization to work more efficiently and productively. In this role, you would focus on tooling standardization, optimized CI/CD pipelines, and improving local development to streamline workflows and enhance collaboration.

We’re looking for someone who:

Holds at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
Has 5+ years of experience building high-quality software and values strong engineering practices like code reviews, CI/CD, and TDD
Excels at writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with a focus on performance and scalability
Embraces best practices in software engineering, such as comprehensive code reviews and thoughtful design documentation
Is passionate about delivering high-quality solutions that anticipate and exceed customer needs
Has hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and backend application development
Enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and communicates effectively with others

Bonus points for:

Experience with our tech stack/tools: Golang, Kubernetes, Kafka
A passion for cloud technologies
Familiarity with AWS services

What you'll be doing:

Collaborating with other highly skilled engineers across the UK and Europe, participating in code reviews and whiteboard sessions to facilitate knowledge sharing, solve bottlenecks, and build exceptional software
Contributing directly to the design and development of our platform while maintaining hands-on involvement with the codebase
Taking ownership of the team’s delivery, providing mentorship, and driving the team's success through leadership and guidance
Prioritizing tasks based on requirements and designing solutions that meet those needs
Promoting and upholding good engineering practices, including design and code review standards
Working closely with stakeholders to ensure the delivery of optimal solutions for our development teams
