Position Description The Senior Director of Soccer Growth is a strategic and operational leader, who will be responsible for co-creating the vision and implementing the strategy for meaningfully growing the game of soccer. They will work closely with the Chief Soccer Growth Officer and Strategy Lead, as well as the CEO, executive leadership, and broader ecosystem stakeholders to carry out key priorities to grow participation in the amateur ecosystem and make the game more accessible and diverse than ever before. They will be a natural leader and relationship builder, with experience scaling programs to achieve specific objectives. This person will report into the Chief Soccer Growth Officer and oversee staff aligned to soccer growth projects. Primary Responsibilities Act as a key contributor to the overall strategic vision and operational roadmap for USSF’s soccer growth business line. Develop and scale programs directed at growing the number, quality, and diversity of participation in the United States. Forge member and non-member partnerships that meaningfully advance the number of participants in the amateur ecosystem, and serve as one of the primary owners for soccer growth opportunities across all external stakeholders. Own profit and loss (P&L) analyses related to soccer growth to help ensure the strategic technical plans are within the fiscal parameters set by the organization. Responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative assessments that guide future state solutions in the amateur ecosystem, including driving and connecting technical USSF research to these solutions. Serve as a primary owner of soccer growth strategic projects that advance Commercial and philanthropic partnerships. Contribute to the development and management of soccer growth key performance indicators (KPIs). Provide customer-centric strategies that balance governance / compliance and benefits with our offerings. Identify and implement digital tools and resources to enhance soccer growth and development. Displays expert knowledge of applicable governance and regulatory standards in the amateur soccer ecosystem. Requirements Minimum Qualifications B.S./B.A. or Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university required Minimum 10 years of experience working in the amateur soccer ecosystem directly supporting programs for participation Strong and empathetic leader with proven ability to build high-performing teams Must have a strong belief in growing diversity and inclusion in soccer Experience building scalable programs that deliver results against priority objectives Experience building and owning P&Ls and forecasting models Proven problem solver Strong ability to influence key stakeholder partners Collaborative and passionate about growing the game of soccer at all levels, including youth and adult participation Deep understanding of regulations, standards, and levers germane to the amateur soccer ecosystem Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments Ability to deliver high quality work and execute under pressure/deadlines Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) U.S. Soccer is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, citizenship, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, genetic information, military status, political belief, or any other characteristic protected under the law.
