• Technology & Development Job Description: Senior Engineering Manager, Game Production – Build Your role within our Kingdom We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Build team within Game Production Technology.
• This team provides the build and continuous delivery capabilities that developers across King rely on every day to build, validate, and ship game technology at scale for hundreds of millions of players around the world.
• You will combine strong people leadership with the ability to drive technical outcomes across a complex stakeholder landscape.
• The scope includes build systems, CI/CD pipelines, build automation, pipeline reliability, release-enabling workflows, developer self-service, and the standards that help game teams and engine teams deliver faster and with higher confidence.
• Your mission is to make building and delivering game software faster, safer, and more reliable: reducing cycle time and failures, improving quality signals, increasing developer self-service, and driving standardization that scales across studios.
• You should be proactive and self-driven, while partnering closely with game teams, engine teams, Infrastructure, Technical Directors, Engineering Directors, and Game Production leadership.

• Build strategy and delivery Set a clear vision and roadmap for Build and CI/CD capabilities aligned with game production needs and company priorities.
• Translate strategy into executable plans: milestones, resourcing, delivery cadence, risks, dependencies, and measurable success criteria.
• Drive convergence through build standards and golden paths, reducing fragmentation, maintenance cost, and repeated local solutions across studios.
• Partner with game teams, engine teams, Technical Directors, Engineering Directors, and other stakeholders to align priorities and make effective trade-offs.
• Independently contribute to the long-term engineering vision, strategy, and roadmap for your organization.
• Ownership of Build and CI/CD capabilities Own the reliability, scalability, usability, and performance of Build and CI/CD systems that support developers across King.
• Improve build pipelines, automation, orchestration, access patterns, cost efficiency, security posture, and developer self-service.
• Ensure architectural and delivery decisions are well understood, clearly communicated, and defended when needed.
• Contribute to build-or-buy evaluations and technical decisions that affect build technology and developer workflows.
• Support release-management evolution by enabling reliable build and delivery workflows for new release strategies.
• Modernization and operational excellence Lead modernization initiatives across build tooling and CI/CD, including migrations, consolidation, and deprecation of legacy solutions.
• Strengthen operational practices: observability, incident management, post-incident learning, preventative reliability work, and clear service ownership.
• Reduce developer toil by eliminating recurring pain points and investing in automation, documentation, and self-service capabilities.
• Use data-driven and data-informed ways of working to prioritize improvements and evaluate impact.
• Contribute to the local Tech culture by exploring ways to improve how we work and how our developer platforms evolve Outcomes, metrics, and stakeholder leadership Be proactive and self-driven: continuously identify opportunities, propose improvements, and run lightweight experiments to validate impact and drive change.
• Define and track KPIs that reflect real developer impact, such as build cycle time, queue time, failure rate, flakiness, MTTR, service availability, adoption, and developer satisfaction.
• Communicate clearly with leadership and stakeholders; align priorities, manage trade-offs, and deliver predictable outcomes.
• Build strong partnerships with game teams and engine teams, ensuring the Build roadmap reflects real needs and adoption is successful.
• Focus on outcomes over output, balancing stakeholder alignment with forward momentum.
