About the role and about You:

At Zwift, we’re proud to offer innovative products that engage and excite our customers. To help us continue expanding our product offerings, we are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to build a multi-disciplinary team for new product initiatives. In this role you will have a unique opportunity to lead strategies (with a partner Product Manager) for new and innovative products and help Zwift bring them to the market.  Success in this role means delivering new and innovative products, learning and innovating on them until they appeal to a broader audience, aligned with our company goals, and driving revenue growth.  This is a high ambiguity, greenfield role. You’ll help cascade best practices for the engineering organization to your teams, as well as look for opportunities for your teams to incubate ideas, find learnings, and share with the broader organization. You’ll be accountable for growing your team, both through hiring a diverse team, as well as coaching your team to take on more responsibility. To do so, this means you’ll cascade responsibility and help support your teams’ managers in doing the same for their teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Working closely with a Product Manager you and your team will incubate and build features and ideas, collecting data and insights to iterate quickly
  • Experiment with new technologies and 3P offerings to accelerate development of new ideas
  • Accountable for building and organizing an extraordinary Technology Engineering team through hiring and coaching a diverse team
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new products into the Zwift platform
  • Help your teams keep and retain our top talent
  • Build realistic project plans, align across teams with respect to deliverables, proactively identify risks and develop mitigation plans
  • Define and drive key success metrics and communicate progress to executive stakeholders
  • Identify, orchestrate, and drive successful initiative-wide improvements (i.e. improving our engineering hiring pipeline, standardizing best practices in project planning, improving our cross-functional collaboration, etc)
  • Work with engineers and product managers to scope and plan projects

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of relevant engineering management experience, including leading multiple teams
  • Experience building across Client (Mobile and/or Game), Server (AWS, Azure, etc.), and Web
  • Experience leading other managers with a track record of successfully improving front-line managers in their craft
  • Experience leading remote and distributed teams
  • Proven experience leading agile teams using modern agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever it takes to help your team win
  • Self-motivation to deliver results and seek continuous improvement

Bonus Points:

  • Experience in video gaming or health & fitness industries
  • Experience working with external partners
  • Experience working with Game Engines (e.g. Unity, Unreal, Custom)
  • Passion for cycling, running and/or fitness
  • Experienced Zwifter

The base salary for this position ranges between $183,000 - $255,000. The base salary will be based on a number of factors including the role offered, the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, Zwift is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package for all eligible employees which also includes performance bonuses, equity, and a full range of medical, financial, and other perks and benefits.
