Overview /Objective 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Internal Audit with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) experience to join our Internal Audit / ERM team. This role will be critical in helping us to execute and expanding our growing ERM program. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing the risk management frameworks, and related assessment and monitoring processes across the organization. The ERM function will be aligned to support the League’s strategic objectives, as such, this individual must also have experience with facilitating the maturation of the framework at a process level, in tandem with entity level objectives. Additionally, this role will serve as the primary catalyst to integrate our ERM and internal audit functions by working closely with the audit team to inform our risk assessment work. 

Responsibilities 

  • Leadership and Strategy: Work with the Head of Audit / ERM to lead the execution of the enterprise risk management framework, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals and risk appetite. 
  • ERM Program Execution: Implement and manage the ERM framework and procedures. Ensure the ERM program operates effectively and efficiently across the organization. 
  • Internal Audit Support: Collaborate with the internal audit team to support audit activities and integrate ERM insights into the audit process. Provide risk assessment information to inform audit planning and execution. 
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Work with the Head of Internal Audit /ERM in the identification, assessment, and prioritization of enterprise-wide risks. Identify risk mitigation strategies and monitoring plans. 
  • Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization, including senior leadership, and other risk management functions. Promote a culture of risk awareness. Communicate risk management objectives, initiatives, and outcomes effectively. 
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain risk reporting mechanisms to provide timely and relevant risk information to the Internal Audit leadership team, executive management, and the Audit Committee. 
  • Program Growth: Drive the expansion and enhancement of the ERM function to meet the growing needs of the organization. Identify opportunities for improvement and implement best practices. 
  • Training and Development: Educate and train staff on ERM principles, tools, and techniques. Promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the organization. 
  • Performance Management: Identify key risk indicators (KPIs) to ensure NFL leadership can effectively monitor the effectiveness of the risk management program 

Required Qualifications 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Internal Audit, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred. 
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, internal audit, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Prior internal audit experience strongly preferred. 
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or equivalent are highly desirable.

  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and methodologies. 
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Proficiency in risk management software and tools. 
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Salary / Pay Range 

This job posting contains a pay range, which represents the range of salaries or hourly rates that the NFL believes, in good faith, at the time of this posting that it might be willing to pay for the posted job in the location(s) specified. The NFL expects to hire for this position near the middle of the range. Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.  

Terms / Expected Hours of Work 

  • NFL employees are required to work 40 hours per week.  
Salary
$125,000$165,000 USD
