Visual Designers at Riot Games seek to craft the best player experiences through their knowledge of systemic design, graphic design, interactivity, layout, typography, color theory, and illustration. Designers collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams and act as both artistic and design problem solvers. They understand players and ask questions about the what, who, and how when solving for an interface or communication challenge.

VALORANT is Riot’s take on a character-based tactical shooter. As a Visual Designer on VALORANT, you will develop and execute visuals to support new content and products, build and expand on existing ones, develop style guides and improve upon our existing design work in and around the game.

We are looking for someone with a strong passion for contemporary design that aspires to push the cutting edge of our IP with content that evokes Fresh Style With Attitude. You will be working with a team of artists, producers, engineering, and 3rd party vendors, to craft a vision that defines the quality bar of the UI in VALORANT both in-game and out of game on PC and console platforms

Responsibilities

Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
Solve complex design roadblocks
Collaborate with internal artists, producers, and engineers to create visually stunning game interfaces.
Provide feedback and guidance to Visual Designers and UX Designers for the best art outcomes.
Implement UI Layouts in Unreal 4.
Foster and improve efficient and scalable production processes.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience in the gaming or entertainment-related industry and providing art direction and mentorship across a team of Visual Designers.
Working knowledge of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and presentation tools
Expert knowledge of Graphic Design and the creative development process
Showcases a strong understanding of layout, typography, and visual design systems
Passion for gaming and the Esports industry
Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with VALORANT/FPS genre cosmetics
Familiarity with Jira is a plus
Experience with Unreal Engine (blueprints) and scripting
