What You’ll Be Doing:Work across our stack including Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Redis, AWS, Terraform, Docker, and KubernetesIdentify and resolve problems that may occur anywhere in the stack when root causes are not readily apparentImprove the scalability of our database through query optimization and architecture upgradesTake end to end ownership and responsibility for architecture, deployment, and maintenance of new and existing servicesCoordinate tasks with your teammates and collaborate with the entire company to refine requirements to deliver the best product to our customersAnalyze and optimize server-side APIs and build pipelines for efficiency and performanceJoin our on-call rotation and be a first responder to incidentsRequirements:5+ years software engineering experience2+ years Ruby/Rails, Python/Django or similar experienceFamiliarity with the entire stack - web servers, the application layer, caching, databasesStrong understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational and non relational databasesProficiency with high-throughput distributed systems hosted on AWSExperience with Monitoring, Logging, Reporting and Alerting frameworks like DataDog and NewRelicProficiency with Git/Github or other distributed version control systemsSelf-motivation and a deep sense of pride in your workCuriosity, humility, and open-mindednessPassion about web technologies and AllTrails’ mission to connect people to the outdoorsHumility, empathy, and open-mindedness - no egosNature celebrates you just the way you are and so do we!
