Job Description

About the Role

We’re looking for a Spanish Localization & AI Content Specialist to support the localization of Meru Health’s 12-week digital mental health program into Spanish. This is a temporary, project-based role ideal for someone passionate about language, cross-cultural communication, and the ethical use of AI in healthcare.

In this role, you’ll work closely with our product and clinical teams to ensure all content, guided meditations, and video lessons — is accurately and meaningfully translated and adapted for a Spanish-speaking audience. You’ll also use generative AI tools to help recreate audio and video content in Spanish.

This is a temporary, project-based contractor role with an estimated duration of 2-3 months. The role is fully remote. We are offering a fixed project fee of $8,000 USD for this project. This fee is not based on an hourly rate, but our best estimate suggests it will take a total of around 300 hours to complete. This is based on the following breakdown:

  • 104 videos, with an estimated 2 hours of translation and video editing work per video (200 hours total).
  • 100 audio clips, with an estimated 1 hour of translation work per clip (100 hours total).

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate app microcopy, program content, and therapeutic materials from English to Spanish.
  • Extract transcripts from English audio and video files and translate them into clear, culturally appropriate Spanish.
  • Use AI tools to generate Spanish-language audio and video from translated scripts.
  • Collaborate with our Spanish-speaking therapists to validate and refine translations, ensuring accuracy and emotional nuance.
  • Edit and reassemble audio and video content in Spanish, maintaining a high standard of production quality.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, terminology, and messaging across all translated materials.

What We’re Looking For

  • Fluent in both Spanish and English — native Spanish speaker strongly preferred.
  • Strong experience in translation/localization, preferably in mental health, wellness, or healthcare settings.
  • Familiarity with AI dubbing, text-to-speech tools, and basic video/audio editing (e.g. Descript, Premiere, or similar).
  • A keen eye for design and some experience in visual communication are preferred.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and sensitivity to cultural and emotional nuance.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills — you’ll be working with therapists, product teams, and content leads.
  • Passion for mental health, mindfulness, and ethical use of technology.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with mental health or therapeutic content.
  • Design or visual communication background
Background in design or visual communication.
  • Background in UX writing or microcopy.
  • Familiarity with generative AI translation workflows.
