JOB SUMMARY: Assist the Turf Department with the maintenance of the landscape, grounds, and athletic fields at Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit.  Assist the Turf Department at Empower Field at Mile High with in-season maintenance and preparation of stadium field and landscape.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist with maintenance and upkeep of athletic fields at Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit

• Perform cultural practices including mowing, irrigation troubleshooting and repair, fertility and pesticide applications, seasonal renovations, over-seeding, etc.
• Operate turf maintenance equipment including utility vehicles, tractors, mowers, aerators, string trimmers, blowers, paint machines, hand tools, etc.
• Assist athletic field painting operations
• Execute field setup and strike for team practices and/or special events
• Complete synthetic turf maintenance activities

Assist with turf maintenance and game preparation at Empower Field at Mile High

• Assist with turf maintenance and other tasks including, but not limited to, field renovation, field and logo painting, tarp placement, grow light deployment, and snow removal
• Operate utility vehicles, tractors, mowers, string trimmers, hand tools, paint machines, and other equipment
• Assist with maintaining surrounding landscape as needed
• Keep office and maintenance area in clean and orderly condition
• Assist with set up and strike of playing field for NFL games and special events

Assist with landscape maintenance operations at Broncos Park Powered by CommonSpirit

• Execute daily maintenance plans around the property including but not limited to fine turf areas, native grass areas, planting beds, trees, shrubs, drainage areas, detention ponds, and sediment basins
• Perform cultural practices including mowing, trimming, pruning, edging, fertilizer and pesticide applications, aerification, seeding, monitoring irrigation and performing repairs, etc.
• Assist in the maintenance of all equipment, materials, and supplies required for landscape maintenance operations
• Communicate to Turf staff landscape needs and maintenance requirements
• Support snow removal operations on interior sidewalks and entrances, including maintenance of snow removal equipment, supplies, and materials
• Work with department staff executing projects on property

Contribute to Department, Team, and Operations Department efforts

• Assist Senior Director of Sports Turf on various tasks and projects as needed
• Assist Senior VP of Operations and Operations staff as needed
• Assist Equipment staff with practice field setup, operation, and strike
• Work flexible/extended hours as needed to accommodate work requirements including weekends/holidays
• Work around the public in a safe and courteous manner
• Establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees and other departments within the organization
• Communicate effectively one-on-one and in small group settings
• Relay essential information to the Turf management team in person or over the phone
• Work around NFL players and staff in a safe and courteous manner
• Maintain properties in safe, functional, and presentable manner for all users and visitors
• Support athletic field preparation for sporting events including football, soccer, and lacrosse at all levels. This encompasses field layout and painting (lines and logos), equipment setup and strike, cleanup and repairs to surface, and ensure that field related contractual obligations are met with user groups.
• Contribute to team effort by performing other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One (1) year experience in landscape, sports field, or golf course maintenance
• Ability to work independently and in team environment
• Ability to utilize and operate smart phone
• Required to work all Denver Broncos home football games and public events as assigned

PREFFERED SKILLS AND ABILITY:

• Two (2) years or more experience in landscape, sports field, or golf course maintenance
• Ability to lead game day staff
• Excellent work ethic and professionalism
• Work well independently and in team environment
• Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
