About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Platform Engineering squads, overseeing our SRE and API teams. Reporting to the SVP of Engineering, you will own the scalability, reliability, and developer experience of our platform which processes millions of API calls and transactions daily.
You will drive the technical strategy and execution for our platform infrastructure and public APIs. Your team ensures our platform can seamlessly support our rapid product development and business growth at scale. You will establish SRE best practices to achieve high reliability and uptime. You will lead the expansion of our Public API to enable new integrations and an ecosystem of partner apps. This is a high-impact role critical to the success of our core platform.
What You'll DoDirectly manage and grow the SRE and Public API teams within Platform EngineeringOwn the SLAs, uptime, and operational health of our production backend and APIsDrive SRE initiatives to improve observability, incident response, and application healthDefine the roadmap for our Public API and lead development of new API capabilitiesEvolve our backend architecture to improve performance, scalability and fault toleranceWork closely with other engineering leaders on cross-cutting projects and initiativesRecruit and develop top backend and site reliability engineering talentPartner with cross-functional stakeholders in Product and Revenue to achieve business objectivesWhat You'll Need8+ years of backend engineering experience, including 3+ years leading SRE/API teamsStrong background in API design, microservice architectures, and distributed systemsDeep expertise in SRE practices, observability, application health, and incident managementExperience operating production backend systems at scale in high-growth environmentsProven ability to hire, motivate and grow high-caliber platform engineering teamsExcellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skillsTrack record of driving engineering projects with significant business impactStrong communication skills and ability to translate between technical and business needsPushPress is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and dynamic workplace.
