About the Role
As the Sr. Manager of Product Design at PushPress, you will be the first leadership layer within our growing design team, playing a pivotal role in shaping our design function. As a small but expanding startup, we are seeking someone who can lead by example—balancing hands-on design work with team leadership. You will drive the design strategy and execution across our suite of SaaS products while actively contributing to the design process.
Reporting directly to the Head of Product, you'll help establish design systems, elevate our user experience, and refine our visual identity to align with both our mission and the evolving needs of our users. In this role, you'll mentor a small but talented team, fostering growth and collaboration while working closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to deliver exceptional product experiences.
What You'll DoLeadership & Team Management:Lead, mentor, and grow a team of designers to deliver high-quality, impactful work.Foster a culture of collaboration, feedback, and continuous learning.Partner with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align design goals with overall business objectives.Design Systems & Process:Develop and maintain a cohesive, scalable design system that ensures consistency and efficiency across all platforms.Define and standardize design workflows and processes to support rapid iteration and collaboration.Establish design patterns that ultimately accommodate a wide variety of gym verticals and user types.Hands-On Contribution:Work alongside the team to design user interfaces, user flows, and prototypes that address customer pain points.Conduct research to understand the unique needs of gym owners and their staff, translating insights into actionable design improvements.Iterate on designs based on user feedback, data, and usability testing.Strategic Vision:Shape the design vision and strategy for the company, ensuring alignment with the broader product and company vision.Stay ahead of design trends and technologies to keep our products modern, intuitive, and competitive.Represent the design team in leadership discussions, advocating for the importance of design in achieving business goals.What You'll Need7+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.Proven success in building and scaling design teams.Expertise in designing for SaaS products, ideally within a vertical market or similar domain.Proficient in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.Deep understanding of design systems, usability principles, and accessibility standards.Strong grasp of UX research methodologies and data-driven decision-making.Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions to stakeholders.Empathetic leadership style that fosters trust and collaboration.Comfort operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.PushPress is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and dynamic workplace.
