Overview

Tonal is looking for a Staff SDET to join our mission-driven team pioneering the next generation of intelligent fitness. This is a high-impact technical lead role responsible for building and evolving robust quality strategies that support complex product and engineering initiatives. In this role, you will own the end-to-end QA deliverables and lead the charge on embedding test automation throughout the software development lifecycle. Your contributions will elevate our quality engineering capabilities and drive innovation in testing across our platform. What You Will Do

• Lead test strategy and automation solutions across applications and integrations within the product ecosystem

• Collaborate in discovery & planning and participate in agile ceremonies to ensure successful execution of product deliverables

• Implement test-driven development practices to support rapid innovation and iteration on features powered by intelligence, personalization, and computer vision

• Incorporate modern techniques to advance validation strategies, streamline QA workflows, and drive efficiencies

• Champion a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the organization.

• Provide mentorship and peer review on best practices in test automation and quality engineering

Who You Are

• 7+ years of experience in software development/quality engineering

• Proficient in test automation strategies and QA methodologies in a complex, cross-functional environment

• Extensive experience in testing embedded applications and mobile platforms with backend services integration

• Strong experience in OOP & scripting languages (Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, Python, etc)

• Working knowledge of data analytics and logging tools such as Sentry, Amplitude, OpenSearch or Reporting DB

• Familiar with source control management, CI/CD workflow, and build/release processes

• High attention to detail with a creative approach to problem-solving

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across time zones and technical domains

Extra Credit 

• BA, BS, or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent

• Experience in hardware-software integration, or real-time connected devices

• Familiarity with Apple Health and/or Google Health Connect platforms

• Passion for fitness, wellness, or health-tech industries
