Role overview:

Reporting into the Director, Global Packaging, this role is responsible for leading initiatives for global packaging alignment in terms of concept, structure, colour, and quality.

Liaise with both internal and external teams throughout projects, such as Marketing, Creative, Product Safety & Environmental Compliance, repro agencies, and print vendors to ensure we deliver comprehensive and quality packaging solutions on time, and to spec.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support the Director with all die line creation, and responsible for ensuring that all die line proposals are not only fit for purpose, cost effective and aesthetically on point, but able to be replicated by all print vendors globally. This will involve liaising with internal and external partners, such as local warehouses, drop test facilities, Marketing and Creative.
  • Accountable for assessing print quality from all print vendors and providing feedback in a timely and constructive manner.
  • Oversee relationships with all key internal teams globally, ensuring work is efficiently allocated (in line with financial and capacity restraints as appropriate)
  • Be the designated point of contact for any new packaging structure creation, globally.
  • Bring innovation and creativity to our packaging, keeping up to date with changes and new ideas in the print and packaging arena.
  • Working closely with the product safety & environmental compliance team on green packaging initiatives.
  • Support the Director, Global Packaging with new initiatives and workflow processes relating to packaging structure and global alignment to packaging standards.
  • Coordinate closely with other branches of the Packaging team, to ensure parity and alignment on team goals, priorities, and progress.
  • Ensure all packaging documentation is sound and clear for existing and new vendors
  • Take new potential vendors through a quality and colour approval process before accepting them for mass production of SIE packaging
  • Fortnightly/weekly alignment with packaging counterparts to share any common issues/findings
  • Remain up to date with packaging trends and improvements SIE could be making, always helping us strive to be efficient, green, and attractive.

What we're looking for:

  • 7+ years of experience in packaging development and print management, including experience with manufacturing and procurement
  • Solid project management experience, with proven track record of hitting deadlines
  • Global experience whilst working with international teams
  • Highly effective communication, sourcing, consulting, and collaboration skills
  • End to end supply chain experience desirable
  • Professionally trained in colour quality assessment (G7, Idealliance, Farnsworth Munswell or similar)

Preferred:

  • A motivated, reliable, self-starter who uses initiative to work proactively
  • Intellectual bandwidth to manage multiple collaborators across geographies and functional specialisms
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with a keen eye for detail – precision, accuracy, and very good attention to detail essential
  • Relationship builder, who can communicate at different levels of the organisation effectively.
  • Able to identify and develop opportunities to improve, innovate and/or pioneer new ways of working through continuous process improvement practices
  • Foreign language knowledge a strong plus
  • InDesign and Illustrator knowledge advantageous
