The Esports team plays a pivotal role in designing and bringing to life the most amazing esports products for the community. They contribute to creating exceptional experiences that resonate with users and elevate the world of esports.
The Tournament Manager is responsible for the comprehensive management of esports tournaments, including planning, execution, and post-event wrap-up. This role demands a mix of strategic oversight and practical management within the dynamic landscape of esports.
- Event Planning and Execution: Oversee all aspects of tournament organization, from initial planning to final execution, ensuring each event is delivered flawlessly.
- Rulebook Development: Develop and maintain comprehensive, clear rulebooks in collaboration with stakeholders; ensure rules are communicated effectively to all participants and are adhered to throughout the tournament.
- Staffing: Recruit, train, and manage event staff, ensuring there are sufficient personnel for all aspects of the tournament including operations, referees, and technical support.
- Technical Coordination: Work closely with technical teams to ensure that all gaming equipment and network infrastructures are optimally configured and maintained for high-stakes competition.
- Stage/Venue Planning: Plan and oversee the setup of stages and venues, including checking floor plans, approving stage renders, and organizing seating plans to optimize both player and audience experience and ensure a fair competition.
- Doping Control: Implement and enforce doping control measures in accordance with industry standards to maintain the integrity and fairness of competitions.
- Player Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for players/teams regarding sporting aspects, facilitating clear and timely communication regarding schedules, rules, and any changes or updates.
- Conflict Resolution: Handle disputes, player issues, and any unforeseen problems during the tournament efficiently and diplomatically.
- Prize Money Distribution: Manage the accurate and timely distribution of prize money, ensuring compliance with tournament rules and contractual obligations.
- Feedback and Reporting: Collect and analyze feedback from participants and stakeholders to enhance future tournaments.
What you need:
Must-have
- Minimum of 3 years experience in online gaming administration on a professional or semi-professional level
- Experience in running offline tournaments
- Great people skills & being a team player
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate in the English language, both spoken and written;
- Passion for gaming and good understanding of esports
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to carry out several tasks at the same time
- Ability to perform well under pressure
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Counter-Strike ecosystem
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy
Nice-to-have
- Experience with Excel/Sheets
- Counter-Strike server management experience
- Previous experience as a referee with Tier 1 Counter-Strike events
