THE JOB / Trainee, Events

CLIENT SERVICES / Responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programs.

***Our headquarters are in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a priority given to candidates open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office) in one of our office locations - - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Atlanta, GA, and Charlotte, NC.***

We’re looking for a driven Trainee to support partnerships and activations across a series of events. This role provides an exciting opportunity to assist in the planning, management, and execution of partnerships on behalf of the client.

The ideal candidate will be able to collaborate with various internal teams, client partners & vendors, and consumers. The Trainee will have the unique opportunity to assist with on-site execution of various event management duties and day-to-day activities at each event. This position offers a unique opportunity to learn account management, best practices for hospitality and event management, vendor management, client engagement, and on-site logistics & event activation skills.

THE WORK YOU’LL DO

  • Support account team in the planning & execution of events
  • Collaborate with staff and on-site vendors
  • Maintain documents, including but not limited to gifting and shipping trackers, welcome packets, and run of show
  • Participate in daily event set-up and breakdown
  • Assist attendees with pre-registration and onsite registration
  • Manage distribution of event ticketing
  • Aid in various other administrative tasks as requested

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • A passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, and/or event management
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 0-1+ years of relevant experience, event or marketing experience a strong plus
  • A self-starter with a willingness to learn and develop in a fast-paced environment
  • A strong attention to detail and interest in hosting events and guest experiences
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and produce quality work within strict timelines
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software (specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word)
  • A positive, proactive attitude, and the ability to contribute to team efforts with a “no job is too small” mentality
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: Moderate (20-45%)

This position pays minimum wage and is overtime-eligible.
