LA28 is the independent, non-profit, privately funded organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We are on a singular mission to create an Olympic and Paralympic Games that celebrate all that this city and country have to offer, delivering an unparalleled experience for athletes, fans, partners and our community.
The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles’ third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. This presents the unique and exciting opportunity to celebrate our legacy with the Games and push the Olympic and Paralympic Movements forward, writing a new chapter of Games history in Los Angeles.
Putting on an Olympic and Paralympic Games is a team sport. To build a Games unlike any the world has seen before, we need the best team in place–a team full of perspectives, experiences and expertise. We are guided by the following set of values and behaviors–optimism, integrity, excellence, inclusion, co-creation and boldness–and look forward to hearing about how your past experiences align with them.
Venue Technology is responsible for the integration and planning of technology services across all Olympic and Paralympic Games venues, as well as the delivery of audio-visual (AV) equipment and services. Additionally, Venue Technology leads the Technology Equipment Allocation Process (TEAP), which ensures demand from other Functional Areas (FA) across the Organizing Committee (OC) is planned and managed to align with needs and budget.
Venue Technology comprises of a central team, Cluster Venue Technology Managers (CVTMs) assigned to a group of Games venues, and Venue Technology Managers (VTMs) who are then, in turn, assigned to manage the technology planning and delivery at individual Games venue(s).
Prior to Games Time, VTMs coordinate Technology planning for venues with LA28 colleagues, Partners and Service Providers. VTMs work closely with the CVTM who have overall responsibility for a group of venues. VTMs take guidance and strategic direction from the relevant CVTM, to ensure a consistent approach across venues.
As a VTM, you’ll be a vital member of our team, working at the heart of the world’s largest sporting event. At Games time, you will be the most senior technology staff member on your venue(s), taking responsibility for delivery, support and issue resolution. Sponsor, partner and service provider staff and Technology Volunteers will work under your operational leadership.
Responsibilities will develop over time, as the Games is a rapidly evolving environment working against immovable deadlines. VTM’s are required to undertake tasks that vary from strategic venue-based decisions to operational support for stakeholders, if it involves technology on a venue then expect to be involved!
You will be Technology’s key representative for your venue(s), managing stakeholder requirements and engagement, supplier activity, on-site installation, testing, operations and decommissioning. You are coached by experienced Cluster Venue Technology Managers with prior Games experience and supported by a structured Technology Operations Center (TOC), equipped to monitor and respond to situations.
