What You'll Do

Psyonix LLC is looking for a Video Editorial Manager to guide the Video Team in bringing video content to life for a variety of projects at its San Diego studio. With a focus on Rocket League and future Psyonix projects, the Video Editorial Manager will manage Video Editors and Assistant Editors while working closely with other creatives to plan, film, edit, capture gameplay footage, exporting/rendering video files, animate graphics and manage footage and video related assets.

In this role, you will

  • Manage production of video assets of varying scopes from start to finish. This includes overseeing planning, directing, producing, capture, shot creation, editing, motion graphics, rendering and distribution stages of production.
  •  Manage video related productions that generate live action, gameplay and CG cinematic based footage for marketing and promotional use for Epic/Psyonix products and programs.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other teams and partners regarding video creative and marketing strategy, asset creation, implementation and distribution.
  • Communicate at a high level of professionalism in order to effectively work with high profile partners.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support on video related assets created by internal teams and external partners.
  • Effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and at a high frequency and rate.
  • Problem solving to better manage the production of constantly evolving projects and assets.
  • Manage production both during live shoots and during Post-Production stages of each project.
  • Manage team members and external partners on multiple productions, both locally and while working abroad for any required on-site and off-site location based projects.
  • Managing project tasks and feedback so their projects stay organized and are delivered at the highest quality.

What we're looking for

Bachelor’s Degree in Film, Video, Communications, or closely related degree from an accredited school in the U.S., or a foreign equivalent, and four (4) years of experience in video editing role in the video game, entertainment, or advertising industry and with all the following:

  • Creating and leading video projects from start to finish.
  • Editing promotional content and documentary-style videos that include live events, trailers, sports, social assets and ads.
  • Working with multiple video codecs, specifications and video deliverables.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (including Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop).
  • Color correcting video footage.
  • Editing audio for video projects.
  • Working with high end digital cameras and video equipment such as Blackmagic, Canon and Sony cameras and lenses.

AND Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a video management role with all the following:

  • Managing Post-Production projects and team members.
  • Managing media asset storages and distribution.
  • Producing commercially available video content.

Applicants must submit a video portfolio, demonstrating samples of video projects that are shot, directed, and edited by the applicant, plus samples that are just edited by the applicant. The video portfolio must showcase motion graphics, color correction and audio production samples. Samples must show edited trailers/promotional videos, documentary style pieces and other social media focused video projects created for top tier clients.

Travel is required for managing, shooting and editing at Psyonix live events, including but not limited to Psyonix and Epic Games Competitive tournaments, events, and marketing activations. Travel is also required for on-set filming, editing, directing or production managing for marketing and promotional videos. The frequency of travel is projected to be quarterly but subject to change depending on the frequency of live-action video production requirements for projects.

California Base Pay Range
$100,672$129,994 USD
