Gracenote is the top provider of entertainment information, creating industry-leading databases of TV, movie, and music metadata for entertainment guides, applications and in car entertainment. We are the leading supplier of TV and Movie entertainment data. 

ROLE: The Assistant Manager, Editorial is expected to lead the Editorial team, providing effective guidance on a day to day basis. You will be responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members regularly.

As a team leader, you will be the contact point for the editorial team members, so your communication skills should be excellent. You should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

Ultimately, you should lead by setting a good example and engage the editorial team to achieve the goals set out by the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supporting the Editorial Manager, oversee the organisation of workflow and personnel schedules in the most efficient manner relative to cost, time and accuracy; provide prioritization guidance of work assignments
  • Manage team members performance including one on ones, quarterly check ins and annual review. 
  • Reward and coach/counsel staff.
  • Maintain workload requirements and inform manager and staff of changes to deadlines
  • Maintain quality and coverage standards within the content database
  • Resolve and direct editorial discrepancies reported by clients
  • Devise and implement ideas and procedures to improve quality and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the entire content team to build resources, establish processes, and define research best practises
  • As the editorial group and database coverage expectations expand identify new tools to assist
  • Execute integration & project activities based on manager direction
  • Coordinate training for new staff members or to refresh skill sets of the editorial team
  • Maintain the content operations knowledge database ensuring that all editorial documentation is kept up to date and that any changes to software, process or standards are documented
  • Perform Editorial tasks when requiredEscalation point out of hours for Editorial

  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Candidate must be proficient in reading/understanding/writing in English
  • 3+ years of team management work experience
  • Experience in working with global stakeholders and clients
  • Ready to work in a 24/7 operation, including evening, night and weekend shifts
  • Proven record of delivering quality results on time 
  • Uses logic to analyze data and capability to draw conclusions and communicate or provide advice or consultation to people managers and process owners.
  • The ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively both verbally and in written communication.
  • Maintain composure and respond appropriately in stressful or crisis situations.
  • Ability to effectively build consensus within the team and among disparate stakeholders 
  • Capability to evaluate process performance within an organization and to make recommendations for improvements 
  • The role is hybrid, so you must live near Nielsen’s office.
  • Hybrid Workers are those employees who are working partially from home which is in the same city as the Nielsen office they are employed with and partially from a Nielsen office / site.
