Title: Vice President of Communications & Content

Job Summary:
The Vice President of Communications & Content will serve as the strategic driver of storytelling inside and outside the club. They will lead a PR/Media Relations and Digital Content team that delivers timely news and relevant stories to make the club’s assets the go-to source for all things FCC. They will be tasked with ensuring there is a consistent narrative around FCC with media, staff, partners and fans. In addition to club-related communications, they will also support Enterprise-level initiatives by building relationships with media and key local influencers that support the goals of the organization. Reporting into the Chief Marketing Officer, this role will also serve as a leader and the day-to-day contact for Integrated Marketing & Communications at Mercy Health Training Center.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage a high-performing Comms & Content team carrying a consistent narrative and telling the FCC story across club and Apple TV MLS Season Pass channels.
- Serve as the day-to-day corporate communications contact for FC Cincinnati, managing incoming media requests and working with internal leaders and departments to develop messaging and execute media opportunities.
- Support FCC Partnerships, Community Relations and Lion Ventures (non-MLS revenue business development) with strategic communications planning and execution.
- Collaborate with Soccer Operations to support needs around team news and player-related communications and content marketing.
- Participate in relevant leadership meetings and organizational initiatives to ensure consistency of the FCC story internally.
- Support Enterprise-level initiatives as organization continues to venture into new avenues and opportunities.
- Consistently communicate with MLS contacts to provide feedback and clear direction on requirements as part of MLS Season Pass as well as stay apprised of relevant news that impacts the club.
- Foster relationships with other FCC departments to stay informed of new initiatives and support club-wide marketing, sales, corporate partnership, broadcast and business initiatives
- Establish and maintain close collaboration with VP of Integrated Marketing to support cohesive approach to campaign planning and cross-functional execution and efficiencies.
- Coordinate crisis communications in conjunction with CMO, senior leadership team and key internal and external stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Proactively identify opportunities and conduct strategic media outreach in support of the goals of FCC building on the relationship between the team and community.
- Develop strong relationships with local, national, and league-level media contacts as well as key influencers to support the goals of FCC.
- Proactively manage career pathing and professional development of direct reports and Comms & Content team more broadly with focus on building and maintaining a world-class team.
- Support the continued evolution of a positive and production FCC culture internally.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated ability to be proactive in a fast-paced environment and capable of setting boundaries to allow for fast action without comprising the FCC brand or story.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7+ years of work experience in a related field and a minimum of three years in a leadership role.
- Experience in a senior level role of an organization including setting and managing budgets as well as building out and managing a diverse and high-functioning team.
- Able to work an event-based schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively partner with executives, athletes, and the media.
- Capable of developing meaningful business relationships with all levels of leaders and business partners on a foundation of trust and respect.
- Extensive national/international media contacts; demonstrated ability to place stories preferred.
- Ideal candidate will have sports experience, but not a requirement.
- Ability to work outside of regular business hours including but not limited to weekends and holidays as required by the FCC game schedule, special events, and projects.
