Job Description

About Numan

Founded in 2018, we’ve already grown to be a 300+ team distributed across the globe, united by a singular mission: empowering people to take control of their health.

Numan is transforming health: we’ve built a cutting-edge platform that integrates diagnostics, medication, supplements, digital programmes, and doctor consultations. Giving people the tools they need to maximise life.

To deliver on our transformative mission, we are guided by our 5 company values:

• Patients first.
• Learn fast.
• Own the quality.
• Succeed together.
• Care deeply.

Backed by top-tier investors, Numan is already having a positive impact on hundreds of thousands of patients here in the UK, and we want you to help us deliver this mission!

The role

We are hiring a VP of People to lead our people function and help Numan scale with clarity, cohesion, and care. As Numan continues to scale rapidly, we are looking for a leader who can evolve our people function to match our growth. You will build the resilient systems necessary to support a larger, more complex organisation while fiercely protecting the agility, empathy, and distinct culture that makes Numan a special place to work.

You will bring a clear strategic and commercial perspective into our people function, ensuring that as we grow, we remain a high-performance, values-led organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • People Strategy & Execution: You will translate Numan’s company strategy into a comprehensive people strategy. You will own the full people agenda, including Performance Management, Talent Acquisition, and People Operations.

  • Talent Acquisition Engine: You will build a best-in-class talent acquisition function. Your focus will be on developing a repeatable playbook to enable a scalable, data-driven hiring model that identifies, sources, and recruits A players. You will deploy technology and automation in operational hiring (clinical prescribers, customer care, etc.) to power a high velocity and high quality funnel.

  • Operational Excellence & Compliance: You will ensure robust HR infrastructure, systems, and policies are in place. Crucially, you will maintain compliance across UK employment law and relevant healthcare regulations (e.g., CQC/MHRA/GPhC), managing clinician credentialing and safeguarding training in partnership with Clinical Governance.

  • Performance Culture: You will evolve our performance philosophy to drive high performance while ensuring fairness. This includes owning the framework for goal-setting/OKRs, feedback, calibration, and promotions.

  • Total Reward: You will design and manage a competitive compensation and benefits strategy that rewards impact and retains top talent. You will also support executive compensation planning, participating in the Board’s RemCo.

  • Learning & Development: You will build L&D programmes that create clear career pathways and leadership capabilities at all levels.

  • You will act as the custodian of Numan’s Employee Value Proposition, ensuring we remain a top-tier destination for talent, while maturing our Employee Experience to ensure our daily culture remains high-trust and high-empathy as we grow.

  • Who You Are:
  • We are looking for a strategic, data-driven people leader who balances empathy with commercial reality. You understand that a great culture is the result of deliberate strategy, not just "perks".

  • Experience: You have 8-10+ years in progressive People/HR leadership, with significant experience leading the function in a high-growth, product-led, or operationally complex business. Experience in healthcare, regulated sectors, or multi-disciplinary workforces (including clinicians) is a plus.

  • Scaling Success: You have a track record of building high-performing, inclusive cultures and scaling organisations, ideally having navigated the journey from 500 to 1,000+ employees.

  • Commercial Acumen: You possess an in-depth understanding of the P&L and an ability to articulate the ROI of people initiatives. You build business cases, not just "HR policies".

  • Analytical Mindset: You use people analytics to drive decision-making and can present data clearly to support your strategy.

  • Leadership Style: You have high emotional intelligence and lead with authenticity transparency, and kindness. You are a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team, providing guidance on complex organisational challenges.

  • Technical Knowledge: You have a strong command of UK employment law and a depth of knowledge across the people toolkit, including org design, ER, and DEI.

  • Diverse Experience: You may have a traditional People/HR background, or have recently moved into the field.

  • Our benefits include...
