Job Description

The Account Executive with Senators Sports & Entertainment is responsible for generating revenue through the sale of corporate sponsorships and advertising within the guidelines and standards determined by the Vice President, Corporate Partnerships. 

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for prospecting and developing new targeted business relationship.  Prospecting may include cold calling, Telephone introductions and networking events  
  • Responsible for the sale of corporate sponsorship and adverting 
  • Initiates regular outbound phone activity, establishes working relationships and drives revenue with: 
    • Businesses and corporations in specific area/category of focus 
    • Former customers 
    • Current customers (upgrade sales & referrals) 
  • Hosts, as needed, current and prospective clients at Senators games and other designated corporate events.  
  • Provides customers with outstanding service in a timely and efficient manner 
  • Contributes to the sales team atmosphere in a positive manner by developing mutually beneficial working relationships with all sales team members 
  • Represents the Senators at local business events 
  • Networks and is involved with a number of business associations 
  • Records all activity and sales pipeline details in the CRM system 
  • Participates and contribute to weekly sales team meetings and training sessions 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Corporate Partnerships

Job Requirements

  • 5-8+ years’ experience in business to business outside sales 
  • Bachelors or equivalent degree required  
  • Bilingualism (English & French) is a requirement
  • Professional and results oriented with proven track record of exceeding revenue targets  
  • Experience in prospecting to businesses and associations through cold calling and in person visits  
  • Experience in leading client diagnostic meetings at client workplaces as well as creating & delivering client proposals in an effort to drive revenue  
  • Driven by results and excelling in a competitive environment while also contributing to a team-based atmosphere Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral)  
  • Positive attitude and a passion for the game of hockey  
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in professional sports  
  • Able to work extended hours (nights, weekends, and holidays)  
  • Knowledge of Sales Force, Microsoft Office, LinkedIn and Twitter considered an asset 
  • Knowledge and a contact base within the Ottawa business community is considered an asset
