We're looking for an Accounting Co-op to join our high performing and fast-paced accounting team for a full-time 4-month co-op starting in January. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accounting Co-op will assist the Accounting team with processing accounts payable, month-end reconciliations, and updating company records. This is an excellent opportunity for a sharp student to take their knowledge into practice in an exciting industry with unique challenges.

In this role, you can expect to:
  • Process accounts payable including communicating with external and internal business partners, validating, processing, and recording invoices
  • Set up vendors in the systems
  • Review internal expense reports along with corporate credit card reconciliations
  • Record bank transactions and apply payment to invoices
  • Prepare intercompany journal entries related to the recording of invoices
  • Assist with the preparation of month-end journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash and prepaids
  • Prepare and update process documentation to ensure that certain accounting policies and internal procedures can be memorialized in writing
  • Other ad-hoc tasks and/or projects as opportunities arise

  • Your background includes:
  • Enrolled in a post-secondary institution seeking a Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • Completion of fundamental accounting courses 
  • Pursuing a CPA designation is an asset but not required
  • Practical general accounting experience in a professional or volunteer setting
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong communication, both written and verbal
  • Solid proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly in Excel), and Google Workspace/G-Suite
  • Proven track record of being self-directed along with exceptional organization and research skills
  • Flexible and willing to go that extra mile to gain more knowledge and experience
  • Demonstrate the capacity to manage ambiguity and shifting priorities while remaining calm and controlled
