We are looking for an Assembly Line Specialist to join the team. They are responsible for assembling our high quality eyewear products in our Austin, TX headquarters. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble custom sunglasses and prescription eyewear
  • Adhere to hourly production goals and warehouse systems 
  • Pick, assemble, quality inspect, and pack ROKA eyewear according to established procedures
  • Follow detailed work instructions and quality standards to ensure consistent, high-quality output
  • Proactively identify and escalate quality or assembly issues
  • Meet or exceed quality standards, passing the majority of final inspections for assembled eyewear
  • Learn and retain multiple processes across several workstations, rotating as needed
  • Maintain acceptable levels of workmanship and quality (pass the majority of final inspections) of all finished jobs coming out of the lab
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned workstations
  • Stay up-to-date on changes to internal procedures and policies
  • Comply with all company safety standards 

Must Haves: 

  • Prior experience in assembly or manufacturing
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, repetitive-task environment
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively with a team
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures quickly
  • Experience working with eyewear a plus 
  • Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) a plus
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Working Environment:

  • Work is performed primarily in an optical laboratory setting
  • Environment often fast-paced and deadline oriented
  • May work alone in lab as necessary or with partner
  • Exposure to dusts, fumes, glass and/or plastic lens particulates, standard chemicals found in optical lab (some of which may be caustic), metal alloy (solid and melted), moderately high levels of noise, fluorescent lighting, cleaning agents and electrical energy
  • Will be working primarily with small manual tools (screwdriver, pliers, etc.), lenses, frames, and automated laboratory equipment
  • This environment requires:
    • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time (up to 8 hours per day per scheduled shift)
    • Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
    • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to approximately 45 lbs.
    • Must possess excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
    • Must possess excellent finger and manual dexterity, control precision, steady hands/arms
  • This role is onsite at ROKA Headquarters; Monday - Friday
