Job Description

**Job Description**

The Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Travel & Expense (T&E) Global Process Lead will be the principal authority and strategic leader responsible for the end-to-end design, governance, and continuous optimization of Nielsen Media’s global P2P and T&E processes.

Based in the Global Capability Center in Bangalore, this role will drive standardization, efficiency, policy compliance, and technology enablement across all global entities. The Lead will be instrumental in transforming the operational landscape of these critical financial processes, ensuring alignment with corporate strategic objectives, internal controls, and best-in-class performance.

Global Process Ownership and Strategy

  • Process Design & Governance: Define, own, and maintain the global end-to-end process maps, policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and internal controls for both P2P (Requisitioning, Purchasing, Invoice Processing, Payments, Supplier Management) and T&E (Travel Booking, Expense Submission, Policy Compliance, Reimbursement, Corporate Card Administration).

  • Standardization & Simplification: Drive global consistency and eliminate process variations across different business units and geographies to maximize efficiency and control.

  • Strategic Roadmap: Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap for P2P and T&E transformation, focusing on increasing automation, digitalization, and leveraging emerging technologies (e.g., AI, machine learning).

  • Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure all processes adhere to corporate policies, local statutory/tax requirements, GAAP, and SOX controls. Partner with Internal Audit and Compliance teams to maintain audit readiness.

Performance Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Define, monitor, and report on critical global KPIs and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for P2P and T&E operations (e.g., Days Payable Outstanding, Invoice Processing Cycle Time, Expense Report Submission Compliance Rate).

  • Optimization Initiatives: Identify process gaps, bottlenecks, and high-cost areas. Lead continuous improvement projects using methodologies like Lean or Six Sigma to drive cost reduction and enhance user experience.

  • Data & Analytics: Utilize process data and analytics to provide actionable insights on global spend, compliance trends, and operational effectiveness to senior management.

Systems and Technology Enablement

  • System Ownership: Act as the Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) and business owner for core P2P and T&E systems (e.g., SAP Ariba, SAP Concur, SAP ECC, and SAP S4/HANA).

  • System Enhancement: Partner with IT to define business requirements, manage system configuration changes, lead testing (UAT), and manage change during system rollouts, integrations, or upgrades.

  • Corporate Card Program: Oversee the global corporate card program architecture, policy enforcement, reconciliation process, and relationship management with banking/card partners.

Stakeholder and Change Management

  • Change Management: Lead global change management activities, including the design and delivery of training programs, communication strategies, and user guides for P2P and T&E processes.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with key global stakeholders across Procurement, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Tax, IT, HR, and the business to ensure process alignment and drive adoption.

  • Escalation Point: Serve as the top-tier escalation point for complex global P2P and T&E process and policy exceptions, driving timely and effective resolution.

**Qualifications**
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Experience: 20+ years of progressive experience in Finance Operations, Global Process Ownership, or Shared Services, with a deep focus on Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Travel & Expense (T&E) processes.

  • Global Experience: Proven success in designing and implementing standardized financial processes and policies across multiple countries and diverse regulatory environments.

  • Process Improvement: Demonstrated expertise in process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and a track record of driving large-scale automation/digital transformation projects.

  • System Knowledge: Strong functional expertise in major ERP systems (e.g., SAP ECC and S4/HANA) and dedicated P2P/T&E solutions (e.g., SAP Ariba, and SAP Concur).

Key Skills

  • Leadership: Exceptional leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct reporting lines.

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly to all organizational levels, including executive leadership.

  • Analytical: Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

  • Compliance: Deep understanding of financial controls, SOX compliance, and governance frameworks.

  • Location: Willingness to be based in Bangalore, India, with flexibility for global travel as required.
