Sitting within the Workforce Department, Office Administration (along with Human Resources, Language Services, Benefits & Payroll, Volunteers, Recruiting, and Workforce) aims to deliver the most engaging, innovative, and accessible World Cup experience for all athletes, fans, partners, and the community. Reporting organizationally to the Tournament Director in Mexico, the Executive Director of HR & Administration - Mexico will assist in the administration efforts for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which for the first time in history, will feature 48 teams and over 1,200 players across 3 countries and 16 venues. This role oversees a wide range of administrative functions, including staff management, hiring, compliance, and policy implementation, as well as office operations and facilities management, to ensure the optimal functioning of the office and provide support to the organizational needs of the event in the country. THE POSITION The main responsibilities of the Executive Director, HR & Administration – Mexico for the FIFA World Cup 2026 include: Oversee and manage administrative operations for the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Mexico, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of the main office and the two remote ones (GDL and MTY). Develop and implement administrative policies, procedures, and systems to support the operational needs of the event. Manage the administrative team, including hiring, training, and performance management, to ensure a high-performing and cohesive department. Help coordinate logistics for the event and other related arrangements. Manage office facilities to create a safe and productive working environment. Develop and monitor budgets for administrative functions, ensuring effective allocation and utilization of resources. Implement and enforce compliance with organizational policies, regulations, and legal requirements. Help oversee procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations working closely with the legal department to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality of services. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as HR, Legal, and Finance, to align administrative practices with organizational goals and strategies. Provide strategic guidance and support for administrative initiatives and projects, contributing to the overall success of the event. Develop and maintain effective relationships with external partners, suppliers, and service providers to ensure timely and reliable support. Manage records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and compliance with data protection regulations. Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management. Promote an environmental and sustainability culture. Foster an adequate work environment and communication. The specific competencies we require for this position are: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or related fields. Master's degree or postgraduate in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or similar At least 12 years of experience in international, global companies, managing and directing the administration and human resources department with deep knowledge in talent management, organizational climate and culture, labor relations, conflict resolution, administration of general services, regulatory compliance, organizational development, compensation, and benefits. Strong ability to anticipate internal organizational problems, propose intelligent solutions that represent employees' perspectives, and support the culture. Manage and/or participate in multiple projects and prioritize under pressure with attention to detail and accuracy. Lead with a high degree of professionalism, achieving objectives in a fast-paced environment. Experience in employee relations management. Deep knowledge of Mexican labor legislation. Excellent analytical and organizational skills to oversee administrative tasks. Experience in managing multicultural teams.
