Boston, The Molasses Flood

The Molasses Flood is looking for a Gameplay Engineer with a focus and deep understanding of 3Cs, Senior or Mid level, to focus on implementation and fine tuning the systems for camera, player movement and control, on a new multiplayer title set within the world of The Witcher. Our ideal candidate has deep experience working across disciplines to design these systems, is a skilled communicator, and is a self driven problem solver. Most importantly, you care deeply for the player, understand what motivates and inspires them, and know how to build systems that fulfill those needs.

The person in this role will report to the Lead Gameplay Engineer. This role could also be performed remotely within the continental US and Canada, and according to US East coast core hours. Benefits and salary available vary by country. OR this role may be performed per our hybrid work model in the greater Boston area (Tues/Thurs in our office and Mon/Wed/Fri work from home), with relocation assistance available. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Focusing on the 3C’s of Character, Camera, and Controls, the person in this role will work closely with designers, animators, and other engineers on system prototyping and implementation, ensuring the systems built meet the project code standards.

  • Develop and implement systems in engine in a multiplayer environment, using C++ and Blueprints.

  • Communicate and collaborate across departments as it pertains to 3C’s systems: work closely with gameplay design and engineers, as well as production in managing the prioritization, implementation, and scope of the game’s systems as they pertain to camera, controls and character.

  • Follow the code quality standards set by the team.

  • Collaborate with everyone on the team and across disciplines in achieving the overall vision of the game.

  • Solicit and incorporate feedback from team members regarding existing systems.

Please note that the actual salary for this position may vary, as it is dependent on various factors including but not limited to experience, location, and market dynamics.
