As an Senior Engineer, Open World at CD PROJEKT RED, you’ll be responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and maintenance of our technology for Open World systems. You’ll collaborate with designers, programmers, and other specialists to build the tech that powers our games — and apply your expertise across various areas of game programming.

Daily Responsibilities

• Designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining Open World and Engine systems, such as Smart Objects, Living Cities, NPC Behaviors, etc.
• Taking ownership of core Open World components, ensuring scalability, performance, and quality.
• Developing tools and debug utilities to streamline Open World development.
• Collaborating with designers and other specialists to create a believable living world.
• Partnering with design, QA, production, and other teams to define technical scope, timelines, and priorities.
• Debugging, profiling, and resolving technical challenges across large-scale systems.
• Conducting code reviews and maintaining clean, modular, and maintainable code.
• Defining and documenting technical standards.
• Collaborating on rapid prototyping, R&D, and testing new technologies and ideas.
