WORK OPTION: Not Applicable   The National Basketball Association (NBA) is a global sports and media organization with the mission to inspire and connect people everywhere through the power of basketball.  Built around five professional sports leagues:  the NBA, WNBA, NBA G League, NBA 2K League and Basketball Africa League, the NBA has established a major international presence with games and programming available in 214 countries and territories in 60 languages, and merchandise for sale in more than 200 countries and territories on all seven continents.  NBA rosters at the start of the 2023-24 season featured a record 125 international players from 40 countries and territories.  NBA Digital’s assets include NBA TV, NBA.com, the NBA App and NBA League Pass.  The NBA has created one of the largest social media communities in the world, with more than 2.3 billion likes and followers globally across all leagues, team and player platforms.  NBA Cares, the NBA’s global social responsibility platform, partners with renowned community-based organizations around the world to address important social issues in the areas of education, inclusion, youth and family development, and health and wellness.    Position Summary  This person will be integral to cultivating cross-team alignment and establishing an efficient and streamlined workflow throughout all phases of our business – from strategic planning, business development, partner onboarding and relationship maintenance. As part of the team, this person will also play a role in crafting the department’s overall strategy, and lead initiatives that contribute to our business objectives. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, solution-oriented, always aiming for efficiency and better productivity.   Major Responsibilities  1.    Account Management:  a.    Coordinate with licensing and retail leads in supporting account management duties such as brand assurance process via product approvals, marketing campaign review and business review submissions  b.    Oversee partner onboarding by handling administrative and legal processes for brand & IP licensing and leading the transition to day-to-day operational support. c.    Track and manage key contractual obligations and work with the account executives and day-to-day contacts to ensure partner compliance. d.    Develop and track partner success metrics together with account leads across partnerships for product licensing (consumer products), brick-and-mortar and online stores, and third-party retailers. e.    Support data collection and analysis from partners for internal reporting and dashboards.  2.    Business Development: a.    Support the identification of prospects and key company contacts for potential partnerships. b.    Create pitch materials and support sales process from negotiation to deal closing and relationships building with prospective partners and internal teams  c.    Support the legal/finance due diligence process from start to finish for current and new prospects.  3.    Market Research and Data Analysis:  a.    Gather key market intelligence (e.g. industry developments, partner profiles, competitor movements, consumer and fan studies, etc.) and develop a centralized database for use in strategic planning, business development and account management b.    Provide deep analysis of web3/ entertainment/ gaming products around user acquisition, retention, monetization. Develop dashboards for decision makers, and support revenue forecasting and budgeting;  c.    Collaborate with key stakeholders to communicate insights and recommendations in a clear and concise manner. 4.    Other:  a.    Provide general administrative support for the department (e.g. ticket requests, meeting organization, document preparation)   Required Skills/ Knowledge Tech-savvy, strong passion for merchandising & retail and the licensing & sport industry (brand IP licensing experience is an advantage); Fluent in English.  Fluent in another Asian language a plus (Japanese, Korean, Indonesian, Vietnamese, or Chinese).  Demonstrated ability in organizing/analyzing data with Microsoft Excel and other applications. The person must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, as the role entails liaising frequently with internal and external stakeholders. He or she must possess good organizational skills to bring together different verticals under one cohesive workstream. This person must be proactive and can think critically.   Experience Needed 3-5 years working experience, with roles in account management and business development support. Experience in merchandising or licensing a plus.   Specific market knowledge on our key markets? Or at least have worked on one of our key markets   Educational Background Required  Bachelor’s degree in Business     Salary Range:   The NBA does not accept unsolicited resumes from search firms or any other third parties.
