As a Junior Anti-Money Laundering (“AML”) Analyst you will be dealing with Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Financing of Terrorism (“AML/CFT”) matters on a daily basis. This dedicated team plays a crucial role within the 1st Line team and bears the responsibility of vigilantly monitoring client conduct, transactions, and accounts. The primary focus of this role revolves around the identification, assessment, and appropriate action regarding accounts that exhibit potentially irregular or suspicious behaviour.

Reporting to the AML Team Lead, this is the perfect role for someone with an analytical prowess and a passion for research and looking to start a career in AML. We will provide the training for the relevant technical knowledge and also provide professional development opportunities to grow your AML career.

This role is located in Brisbane, Australia, where our headquarters are also situated. We have offices in Darwin, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, and Wellington. Your day-to-day...

  • Analysing customer transactions, accounts and behaviours for signs of potential Money-Laundering/Terrorist Financing behaviour.
  • Assessing customer risk ratings based on fixed criteria.
  • Perform enhanced due diligence checks by compiling source of funds/source of wealth information from various sources such as internet searches, speaking with stakeholders, including BDMs and affiliates, and speaking with customers.
  • Undertake ongoing customer due diligence checks and transaction monitoring.
  • Lodge Suspicious Matter Reports and other reports with AUSTRAC as required.
  • Review of Sanctions alerts.
  • Remediation of AML data.
  • Assessment of customer accounts.
  • Work closely with the Risk, Trading, and Client services teams.
