Position: Legal Intern

Reporting To: General Counsel/Compliance Officer

Start Date: June 3, 2024

Location: Newton, MA or Chapel Hill, NC; consideration will be given to particularly strong candidates located elsewhere

Compensation: $20 per hour

Position Summary:

The legal intern will work directly with Well’s General Counsel and Compliance Officer to support a range of activities and projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a fantastic team on innovative and interesting issues while applying what you have learned both in law school and in your work experience. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and review of legal needs to support business objectives
  • Response to and management of the legal support queue
  • Assistance with contract review
  • Assistance with process improvement for the legal function

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Juris Doctor candidate who has completed at least one (1) year of instruction at an A.B.A.-accredited law school
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities with excellent time management
  • Highly organized with strong collaboration skills
  • A background or interest in the healthcare tech/digital health field
  • Knowledge of regulatory considerations related employee benefits offerings
