Job Description

SUMMARY

The New York Liberty Marketing team is looking for a motivated, team-orientated multi-platform Marketing Director to improve the team’s coordinated marketing efforts. Reporting to the Chief Brand Officer, the hire will optimally develop and implement fully integrated, multi-channel strategic marketing and promotional campaigns crafted to build awareness, engage fans, and drive desired results. Your core focus will be to assist in the development of initiatives, in partnership with Digital and Content, in support of Ticket Sales, Marketing Partnerships, Operations, Merchandise and Media business goals.

What You Will Do

  • Project manage the design and implementation of comprehensive marketing activations that will engage consumers and align with the company’s business initiatives across multiple platforms.
  • Apply market, league, and team generated research to improve marketing efficiencies and deliver a best-in-class brand expression for the organization.
  • Produce ideas for promotional events and/or activities throughout the season.
  • Support and reinforce brand awareness efforts internally, ensuring staff is proficient on brand purpose.
  • Liaise between creative/media agencies and departments in an effort to achieve business goals.
  • Assist dedicated Sales Staff to craft targeted campaigns focused on growth and retention of season ticket membership base, single game sales, partial plan sales and groups sales.
  • Assist dedicated Partnership department to ensure partner inclusion within organizational platforms, promotions, events and campaigns.
  • Assist Merchandise department in driving merchandise goals as well as strategy for premium product.
  • Act as primary liaison for the Marketing department with all business units within the organization to facilitate and optimize communications and marketing efforts.
  • Provide current, accurate and reliable information to Chief Brand Officer as to daily, weekly, monthly activities and initiatives.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or similar field is required. Masters or equivalent experience preferred but not required.

Who You Are

  • A creative marketing professional with 8+ years proven track record; previous experience in sports and entertainment a plus.
  • Experience developing multi-channel creative campaigns (TV, Digital, Social, experiential, etc)
  • Broad experience and understanding of all facets of media planning, brand marketing & creative, including consumer insights, positioning, creative development, and delivery
  • Knowledge of CRM databases, web analytics and Google AdWords
  • Keen attention to detail, strong conflict resolution, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to recognize and stay ahead of trends
  • Flexible and reliable standout colleague, always acting in the best interest of their department and the company as a whole
  • Ability to build and maintain productive, positive relationships through strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to handle one’s own time and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

May be required to travel on rare occasions (<5% travel); trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.

SALARY RANGE:

$95,000 - $150,000

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works primarily in an office environment but is expected to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends and holidays.
