Get to know the role
- Job Title: Product Marketing Manager (Bilingual Japanese/English Required)
- Job Summary: Product Marketing Managers work with the Manager, Apps Product Marketing and the wider Apps Product Marketing team to develop and execute go-to-market plans and live operations for Pokémon apps, such as , Pokémon UNITE, and Pokémon Masters. Collaborate closely with a cross-functional team of internal stakeholders, vendor and agency partners, and counterparts at global partner organizations to facilitate streamlined communication, ensure alignment on marketing plans, and ensure flawless execution.

Note: We are hiring for a Level 2 or Level 3 Product Marketing Manager
What you'll do (Level 2)
- Assist in the development and sharing of creative materials, including creative
assets spanning marketing channels such as web, social, PR, and paid media.
- Assist in the maintenance of marketing calendars, ensuring milestones are up to
date and communicated to key stakeholders.
- Assist in the preparation of user research and surveys.
- Assist in general coordination the Marketing team and business partners, both
internal and external.
- Assist in the creation of campaign performance reports.
- Organize review packages of various marketing assets for internal / external
feedback and approval.
- Document decisions with meeting notes, following up on action items as required.
Maintain financial and statistical information such as budget spreadsheets and a
marketing database.
- Assist with promotional activities such as sample requests for PR and Influencers
- Help to identify marketing trends and key opportunities for innovation.
What you’ll do (Level 3)
- Collaborate with internal teams and global partners, including counterparts at The Pokémon Company’s Tokyo office, to develop go-to-market plans and campaigns to support the launch and ongoing liveops of mobile games.
- Support new game development projects by being a point of contact between The Pokémon Company’s Tokyo office, the game developer, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with game development teams to understand and guide the product vision, with the goal of creating an engaging customer experience throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Work with the agencies on the planning, approval, and execution of omnichannel marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate with the The Pokémon Company’s Tokyo office to ensure alignment on product and marketing direction and keep internal channel leads informed with the latest product information to successfully build and execute marketing plans.
- Research, analyze, and report on key metrics and industry trends. Ensure campaign performance is measured, analyzed, and shared with partners.
- Build strong relationships with both internal teams and international partners.
What you'll bring (Level 2)
- Bilingual and bi-cultural with strong written and verbal business communication proficiency in both English and Japanese. Solid understanding of Japanese culture and business customs.
- Experience working with multinational corporations in the video games or entertainment industries, including Japan and the USA, is a plus.
- Demonstrated consumer marketing experience, with a customer-centric approach in executing marketing plans.
- Demonstrated program management skills to oversee and support the creation and
- implementation of launch and sustainment marketing activities, and the ability to problem-solve where needed.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to oversee multiple projects with various key stakeholders.
- Outstanding communication skills. The ability to work across teams and communicate. marketing goals/results at a team, executive, and company level.
- Ability to adapt to changing deadlines, emerging needs, policy changes, and the variety of nuances that can happen in product development.
- Organized and process-oriented with proven ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Experience of working with external partners.
- While passion for the Pokémon brand is a plus, it is not required. A willingness to learn more about the brand is a must.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Three (3) to four (4) years of related professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required
What you’ll bring (Level 3)

- Ability to operate at a strategic level to define new market opportunities and assess product-market fit but also to work tactically to drive projects to successful completion.
- Eagerness to learn about the brand in depth is required. Passion/interest in Pokémon brand is a plus.
- Experience working in video game or mobile app marketing is a plus.
- Experience in data analytics to drive app performance is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- A proven track record of career progression.
- 5-7 years of related professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required

- Base salary range: For this role, Level 2 new hires generally start between $82,000 - $96,900.00 The full range is $82,000 - $122,000. For Level 3, new generally start between $102,000 - $120,650. The full range is $102,00 -$152,000. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
