The Position

Working in our Account vertical, your role will have a huge impact across some of our most critical and complex user journeys, ensuring that we are delivering high-quality products and services. 

As a Senior Quality Engineer in this team, you will be responsible for native mobile testing (iOS and Android), including automated testing. 

This role will need to balance the act of performing testing with the act of providing capabilities and coaching software engineering teams in Quality Engineering practices and standards. Working with all delivery roles, you will contribute at every stage of the product lifecycle. You’ll strive to help development teams understand and assess the quality of their products to bring about the best experience for our customers. This includes test harnesses, test automation, quality insights and other tooling.

Our Quality Engineers all have a sound grounding in software delivery, strong communication skills and a commitment to continuous improvement. You won’t join FanDuel to rest on your laurels, though. We will help you develop and learn more in your career, and there are opportunities for development via both management and technical leadership paths. 

• You test new software developments across mediums and their model and platform versions (e.g. mobile models, OSs, browser types)
• Investigate, examine and understand our products and the continuous change that they go through
• Help development teams understand and assess the quality of their products to bring about the best experience for our customers and advise of potential risk areas
• You advise the team of difficulty and effort involved in testing features and providing test results
• Balance the act of performing testing with the act of providing capabilities and coaching software engineering teams in Quality Engineering practices and standards
• You understand agile methodologies and how they are applied in software development

What We’re Looking For

• Practical experience with experiential/exploratory testing methods
• Experience in both designing and implementing automated tests as part of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
• Experience of testing web and native mobile (iOS /Android) applications 
• Proficiency in programming with JavaScript or TypeScript
• Exposure to testing or creating automated tests against UI with tools like Cypress, Appium, etc.
• Demonstrable experience of testing in service oriented architectures and understanding data flow through such systems

Location: Our Scottish tech hub is based in central Edinburgh and is fitted with fabulous amenities including a gym, showers, bike parking, gaming pods, multiple breakout areas, meeting rooms, a roof terrace and much more. We operate a hybrid model for the majority of our roles, where team members come together at the hub as required.
