THE POSITION

The Director of Technology Strategy & Operations will play a key role in supporting the Senior Director of Technology Strategy & Operations and the broader technology leadership team. This role is ideal for a versatile leader with a mix of product, strategy, operations, and financial acumen—someone who can step in to help drive critical initiatives, provide clarity, and connect dots across the organization.

This role is highly hands-on, requiring an energetic individual contributor who can take ownership of outcomes while bridging product, technology, and business teams. You will translate strategy into execution, ensuring initiatives stay on track through a balance of strategic thinking, collaboration, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to deliver results.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.


THE GAME PLAN

Tech Strategy & Operations

  • Partner closely with the Senior Director to execute key technology strategy and operations priorities.
  • Support engineering and product leadership in planning, tracking, and reporting on initiatives such as cost efficiency, productivity improvements, and roadmap delivery.
  • Manage and coordinate cross-functional updates to ensure the CTO and Senior Director have the insights needed for executive reporting.
  • Act as a connector between technology and business functions (Finance, HR, Legal, Product, and Operations) to ensure transparency, alignment, and execution.
  • Help design and run operating mechanisms such as roadmap reviews, quarterly business updates, and departmental all-hands.
  • Execute and own multiple operational work stream supporting the organization across software development productivity, fiscal efficiencies and monitoring, and helping to drive programmatic initiatives such as quarterly/annual roadmap resource and roadmap planning in support of the business units.

Product & Technology Support

  • Work with product and engineering leaders to provide input into roadmap prioritization, resource allocation, and tradeoff decisions.
  • Bring a product mindset to technology initiatives, ensuring business and customer value are always considered in decision-making.
  • Support the identification and execution of initiatives that improve how product and engineering teams deliver value.

Innovation & Transformation

  • Help FanDuel identify, test and evaluate strategic opportunities to leverage innovative technologies throughout our business to drive internal business value and consumer value
  • Work across FanDuel with leaders from all verticals, including but not limited to marketing, central operations, product, engineering, customer operations and more to identify potential use cases for innovative technologies
  • Work with leads and their top external partners to identify where there are opportunities to leverage 3rd parties to accelerate innovation quickly
  • Develop prioritization framework and evaluate potential use cases across the business to identify biggest value drives to go after
  • Run time-bound pilots to test the effectiveness and impact of specific identified technologies and determine if there is business value in scaling broader. Make recommendation to executive leadership team on go/no-go on scale
  • For opportunities that are identified to scale, work with key stakeholders to help implement and ensure success and adoption
  • Partner with Senior Director to operationalize hackathons, innovation sprints, and other culture-building initiatives that embed innovation into the org.


THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience across product management, strategy, operations, or finance, ideally with exposure to technology organizations. If you were a senior consultant that loved to solve problems in high-growth businesses, get stuff done and have real impact, but did not like selling work to a client…than you’ll love this job. We are looking for experience from either a tech company, top tier consulting firm, PE Operations arm
  • Experience supporting or leading cross-functional programs that bridge product and technology teams.
  • Proven ability to roll up your sleeves, manage multiple workstreams, and deliver results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to break down complex problems into executable steps.
  • Excellent communicator who can flex between details and big picture depending on audience.
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats—product, strategy, finance, operations—and switching contexts quickly.

The applicable salary range for this position is $197,000 - $246,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
