Job Description


The FIFA World Cup 26™ will mark the first time that the tournament features 48 teams and will be hosted by three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Reporting organisationally to the Head of Accommodation, the Manager, Team and Referees Accommodation will be a key member of the FIFA26 Operational Services team, and work in close collaboration with the FIFA Zurich Global Accommodation Team and other key individuals responsible for delivering  the appropriate accommodation solutions for the FWC26 and all side events for the different FIFA target groups, with an emphasis on Teams and Referees, as per service levels, budgets and FIFA guidelines and regulations. The main responsibilities and oversights of the Manager, Teams and Referees Accommodation for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:  
  • Defining (in collaboration with other FIFA Zurich departments and FWC26) assumptions for hotel rooms, function spaces and other hotel services for FIFA constituent groups
  • Taking over finalized hotel agreements from Accommodation Sourcing & Contracting team, continuing management of these agreements, and negotiating ancillary services if required
  • Achieving cost savings and efficiency gains
  • Developing and implementing necessary tools, such as concepts, project plans, communication models, and business workflows
  • Organizing site visits and being responsible for on-site operations and hotel management
  • Collaborate with Team Services in the development of digital team hotel brochures
  • Managing PMA and other constituent group reservations and accounts from pre-event to post-event reconciliation
  • Leading the respective project team during preparation, on-site operation, and the reconciliation phase of FWC26
  • Establishing and managing relationships with the hotel industry and with the different Functional Areas within FIFA26

    Our requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Similar Experience in Travel or Hotel Management
  • Strong planning, process and business management skills
  • Contract negotiation and management experience
  • Strong project management and excellent communication skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in event accommodation management, preferably within football
  • Contract management and key-account management experience
  • Experience in setting up and managing complex projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to cope with high level stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Ability to build pro-active, co-operative working relationships with customers, peers and key stakeholders based on respect and team work
  • An international pedigree and a familiarity with demanding multicultural environments
  • Economic and sustainable thinking
  • Creative and innovative thinking to initiate organisational improvement (efficiency and quality) and to contribute with proposals and suggestions
  • Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project) and planning software and online collaboration tools
